Care Instructions for Your Baby Products

Proper care helps keep your baby products soft, safe, and long-lasting. Follow these guidelines to maintain the quality of your GentleNest Co items.

Baby Clothing & Apparel

Washing:

  • Machine wash in cold or warm water (30°C/86°F maximum)
  • Use gentle, baby-safe detergent free from harsh chemicals and fragrances
  • Wash with similar colors to prevent color transfer
  • Turn garments inside out to protect prints and embellishments
  • Use a gentle or delicate cycle

Drying:

  • Tumble dry on low heat or air dry for best results
  • Remove promptly to prevent wrinkles
  • Avoid high heat which can cause shrinkage

Ironing: If needed, iron on low heat. Avoid ironing directly on prints or decorations.

Blankets & Muslins

First Wash: Wash before first use to soften fibers and remove any manufacturing residue.

Regular Care:

  • Machine wash in cold or warm water
  • Muslin swaddles become softer with each wash
  • Tumble dry on low or line dry
  • Avoid fabric softeners as they can reduce absorbency

Tip: Muslin may wrinkle easily - this is normal and doesn't affect functionality. Light ironing can smooth wrinkles if desired.

Sleeping Bags

Washing:

  • Machine wash on gentle cycle in cold water
  • Zip up all zippers before washing to prevent snagging
  • Use mild detergent

Drying:

  • Tumble dry on low heat or air dry
  • Ensure completely dry before storage

Diaper Bags

Cleaning:

  • Spot clean with damp cloth and mild soap
  • For deeper cleaning, hand wash in cold water
  • Air dry completely before use
  • Empty all pockets before cleaning

Maintenance: Wipe down regularly to prevent buildup of dirt and spills.

Grooming Items (Nail Files, Trimmers)

Cleaning:

  • Wipe with alcohol wipe or damp cloth after each use
  • Allow to air dry completely
  • Store in a clean, dry place

Safety: Inspect regularly for wear or damage. Replace if showing signs of deterioration.

Teethers & Feeding Accessories

Before First Use: Wash thoroughly with warm soapy water or sterilize according to product instructions.

Regular Cleaning:

  • Wash with warm soapy water after each use
  • Rinse thoroughly and air dry
  • Some items may be dishwasher safe (top rack only) - check product label
  • Sterilize periodically, especially for younger babies

Inspection: Check regularly for cracks, tears, or wear. Discard and replace if damaged.
